The best part about Devotion that not enough people are talking about is its seediness. That electric organ sound that dominates "Gila," among other tracks, is somehow both sacred and profane, and it fits in perfectly with the band's calm, collected look at young adulthood.
Alex and Victoria appear to see both the good and the bad in their peers, but this video focuses, rather unexpectedly, on the bad; this begins to take on the feel of a Satanic ritual around halfway through, and by the time it ends, you're left really quite unsettled. And by you, we mean us.
